whereas at the last general court held 6.3.last it was presented that on 17.8.1737 Thos Angier gentleman and Eliz his wife and Geo Angier their only son and heir apparent the said Eliz solely examined etc did surrender by the hands of the deputy steward all that croft of land with appurtenances lying upon Colneford Hill sometime in the tenure of Jn Bridge and also one croft of land called Spillwaters or otherwise containing 4a and also one parcel of land called Kings Garden and also one orchard called Kings Garden and also one tenement called The Water House with a yard and appurtenances sometime Smith's after Baker's and also all that messuage or tenement called Perryes with the yards gardens and appurtenances thereunto belonging situate on Colneford Hill sometime in the occupation of Joan Wade and Ann Penwick widow or their assigns and also to one piece of land or marsh containing 1a lying in Earls Colne between the river there on the one part and Peak Lane on the other and also two crofts of land called Millfield containing 3a lying in White Colne and all and every their customary lands etc to the use of the said Eliz for life and after her decease to the use of Geo Angier forever subject nevertheless to the same proviso or condition in case he shall marry or contract matrimony as is mentioned and expressed in the said surrender in the manor of Earls Colne bearing even date herewith and whereas at the said court it was found that the said Eliz died since the said surrender therefore proclamation made and first default recorded etc now at this court cometh the said Geo Angier and was admitted to such part of the premises as are now parcel of belonging to the messuages or dwelling house late Geo Toller as are holden by copy that is to the malthouse formerly a tenement held by the annual rent of 8d1h to a parcel of land called Kings Garden held by the rent of 3s8d to another parcel of Kings Garden held by the rent of 2s4d and to another piece called Agnes Bridges held by the rent of 3s8d and also to one piece of ground formerly called The Waterhouse and a yard sometime a tan office held by the rent of 12d and also to a messuage called Perryes Tenement and garden on Colneford Hill in the tenure of Solomon Carter junior held by the rent of 6d and also to two crofts part of Millfield containing 3a and held by the rent of 4s6d in the tenure of Wm Harvey or his assigns and also to Spilwater Croft containing 4a held by the rent of 3s with their appurtenances and all other copyhold land which his mother Eliz Angier died seised of etc and gave fine etc
