whereas at a court held 1.6.1741 it was found that Jn Bell and Thomasine his wife on 19.5.1741 surrendered by the hands of Solomon Grimston gentleman deputy steward all and singular their or either of their messuages etc to the use of such persons and estates as the said Thomasine should limit in her last will with or without the consent of her husband and for default to the use of Jn Bell for life and after his death to the use of the right heirs of the said Thomasine forever and whereas the said Thomasine in and by her last will dated 24.5.1741 d vised all her copyhold land as follows I give and devise all that messuage and garden adjoining called Old Hall and one garden called Sagis Garden and also one other garden called Judds Garden and one parcel of garden containing in length 6rod and breadth 4rod lying between a garden called Pruds on the one part and the lands leading to Colne Priory on the other part and also one parcel of land parcel of a certain croft called St Mary Croft containing in length 8rod2ft by assize on the east and 1rod2ft on the west all which said premises now are or late were in the tenure or occupation of Thos Piper or his assigns and holden by the manor of Colne Priory by copy with their appurtenances and immediately after the death of Jn Bell my husband who hath his life therein unto my sister Grace Hatch the now wife of Jn Hatch of Earls Colne butcher forever and whereas at a court held 4.5.1742 it was found that Thomasine Bell wife of Jn Bell died since the last court now at this court found that the said Jn Bell died since the last court and that the said Grace Hatch wife of the said Jn Hatch is also dead and that Grace Hatch spinster is her only daughter and next heir and she was admitted to all that messuage and garden called Old hall held by the annual rent of 1s8d and also to all that garden called Sagis Garden held by the annual rent of 9d and also to all that garden called Juds Garden holden by the annual rent of 11d and also all that parcel of land parcel of St Mary Croft containing in length 18rod2ft at the east end and 1rod and a half at the west end and holden by the annual rent of 10d all which premises are now in the occupation of Jn Shave wheelwright or his assigns etc and she gave fines etc
