to this court came Ann Ashefeld widow late wife of Edw Ashfeld gentleman deceased and surrendered into the hands of the lord one croft of land called Whetecroft whereof 3r thereof are called Bowyes and its rent per annum is 3d and for the rest of the said croft the rent per annum is 20d and one other parcel of land called Beanefeld Welfeld and Bamble whereof the rent per annum is 5d and also one garden called Bugges Garden and the rent per annum is 1h and also one pasture of land now enclosed in two pastures and upon one of them a building has sometime been built called Le Tylekell and one pasture land with a garden or little grove adjoining called Starpetts sometime of Jn Hey afterwards of Jn Wastelyn and later of Jn Cooke whereof the rent per annum is 7s4d and also one tenement with garden at Dodingpollehoo one other tenement called Wanstaves one croft of land called Howletts one croft with an aldercarr called Smithes one croft of land with appurtenances sometime part of a tenement sometime of Rich Le Hoo and a pasture called Le Hoo late of Jn Walleys and one garden called Heggs Garden late of Thos Hayward and a certain lane lying next to the lord's land called Bredgmannes on one part and a croft of the lord's land called Taynter Croft with appurtenances etc namely with this intention that the lord thus seised thereof should regrant the said tenements and other premises with appurtenances to the aforesaid Ann Ashefeld to hold for herself and her assigns during the whole term of her life the remainder thereof after her decease to Wm Ashfeld her son and his heirs and the lord by virtue of the said surrender thus seised of the premises at this same present court by his steward regranted out of his hands the said tenement and other premises with appurtenances to the aforesaid Ann Ashfeld to hold for herself and her assigns during the whole term of her lifetime from the lord by the rod etc the remainder thereof after her decease to the aforesaid Wm Ashfeld and his heirs to whom the same said Ann by the steward he delivered thereof seisin to hold for herself and her assigns during the whole of her lifetime from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor etc the remainder thereof after her decease to the aforesaid Wm and his heirs saving to the lord etc and she gave to the lord her fine as is shown in the margin and made fealty to the lord
