Feb: 23. God good to me in my peace, health plenty in my family wife and children, the Lord preserved us from many gross sins: the Lord good in mildening of my spirit, in giving me more command of my spirit, the Lord was good in the Sabbath, in some measure enabling me for the same, the good Lord in much mercy accept of me pardon and forgive my unworthiness, when I came out of the pulpit I read a letter from Mr H. wherein he writes excellent news from Scarborough, taking by storm the sands Church, 120 ships: 32 piece of ordnance, and endangering the Castle, the Lords name be praised and magnified for the same, The Treaty is likely to hold some time longer.
