Rossiter with 4 troops of horse came up to us, we quartered that night at Houghton at a poor house, beef to our supper, pitiful black bread, I got a white load crust; our lodging was upon straw and a quilt; in our clothes, I slept well I bless my god, heard that Montrosse was entered England.
