Jan: 30: 1645 Whereas a supply of books is necessary for me, and my means but small to purchase them, I have laid down a resolution. to buy but few, and those of choice and special concernment, and to allot towards the same a moiety of all those monies, that providence does by gift or otherwise unexpectedly and freely supply me withal; and to purchase them at the second hand, out of libraries that are to be sold.
