20. 21: Mr Harlakenden kept his Courts; they were pairing Courts men coming in with their wives to take up houses most poor people, one man purchased a house to him and his wife, and their heirs, and for want of such heirs to the rig heirs of the survivor. we chose two honest men for our constables Edw. Clarke , and Christopher Mathew , one Ames refused to make good a surrender; tenants whose estates are passed away upon mortgage may not safely take a surrender.
