4. This week god was good to me, and mine, in our peace, plenty, the lord gracious in showing me the weakness of my spirit in any measure to serve him, or to resist my corruptions my god be strength unto me, and make me diligent and faithful in the use of all means to serve him, god good in the Sabbath, the duty and exercises thereof, sermon and expositions, Mr Rogers helped me one part, many make fair for god and miss, some root of bitterness, I lord have my bitter roots of mind vanity and pollution which then knows, make me watchful and jealous that I be not overcome with them. this week seemed black and dark in providences as if mutinies and troubles were yet near at hand, the lord in mercy prevent them, and fit us for whatsoever he will bring upon us.
