June: 1: Met in conference my cousin Josselin called me away to desire me to preach at the baptism of his child, 160. soldiers came to quarter in our town, they should have marched and disbanded this day, but they refused, fell into distempers, and marched towards their general, the Lord in mercy give a good issue unto things: the soldiers marched from us, June.2: quietly, but afterwards they were a greater burden where they came, it was a providence of god towards us, the lord do us good by the same(,) the reports of the soldiers distempers continued, and their words very high, we are still in the hands of god, and his purposes shall and must stand:.
