June. 6: This week god was good and merciful to me and my family in many outward mercies, only my dear wife faint, the Lord in mercy, preserve her, and sanctify her, as a choice vessel to himself, and comfort unto me; the lord gives me to lay to heart our confusion, our disorder, and I intend no rest in my spirit until I can bring in people into communion, and fellowship; lord in this make my heart upright, and give me wisdom to walk in this work according unto thy word: This week there is a sad turn and change on the face of the kingdom, what god will do we know not, the council of Jehovah shall stand, the poor ministers are in straits on all hands, but the name of the lord is a tower unto his; the lord was good to me in the work and duty of the Sabbath, make me more useful holy god in my place I entreat thee; and continue me in thy love for thy name sake./
