Aug: 29: The times were very sickly and ill, but blessed by god, who was good to me and mine in our health, my wife exercised with qualms and weakness incident to her condition, I had a cold and pose my continual distemper and my little Jane ill with looseness and vomiting, but staid in some measure, but our illnesses, are gentle not taking us off from our employments, god good in the season harvest generally had in, and the most of it, exceeding well, to god be praise, who could have destroyed that little crop on the ground: the lord was in some measure merciful to me in the duty of the Sabbath he in mercy accept me and pardon my failings:
