September: 26: This week the lord was good and merciful to me and mine in our health, peace plenty, and many outward mercies to his name be praise: my cold finally worn away, the lord in mercy give me to consider of the vanity of my mind, in earthly imaginations and give me to endeavour faithfully against them, which I confess I have not done, but pleased myself in ruminating on such fooleries. the lord give me power against every evil for his mercy sake, the lord good in the season which was very fair, and as fit a seed time as ever came, things are at that rate as never was in our days, wheat 8s.: malt:4s. beef.3d. butter 6.ob. cheese 4d candle 7d. currants 9d. sugar.18d. and every other thing whatsoever dear, the soldiers also returning to quarter again with us, and that in a great proportion viz. 25: the lord was good and merciful to me in some measure in the duty of the day, the good lord in mercy accept me, and pardon me; people especially poor of both sexes and men are exceeding careless of the Sabbath, profaneness is ready to overrun us:.
