October: 17. This week the lord was merciful to me in the continuance of the health of my family; and good in keeping my heart from many evils that I am subject unto, oh blessed be the Lord that has not suffered iniquity to prevail over me, the lord in mercy give me a spirit endeavouring to walk with him, the lord was good to me in the word preached, and expounding, wherein, on the consideration of Rachels calling her child Ben-oni. and on the contemplation of this fact, such a passion surprised me that I could not well speak, the Lord in mercy preserve my dearer than Rachel, the season was very fair and wholesome, the plague abated in London and chester blessed be god, the kingdom in a strange unsettled frame.
