Sept: 16: This week god was good and merciful to me, and mine in our outward enjoyments. [Cold:] only I was troubled with a great cold which I took in going thin, my navel continued well to the lord be the praise of it, the disturbances at Oxford over in a good season, and by a very finger of god, the lord kept me this week in my paths, though my heart is prone to vanity, god good to me in the Sabbath, though I cannot but lament my negligence in my employment: Mr owen is going for Ireland, the season is very good and gallant, the rate of things continues dearer and is likely to increase.
