May. 12. I preached at Halsted in the afternoon, my toothache returned, I pricked the hollow tooth and made it bleed very much, I cannot say it did me either good or hurt, the dealing of god with me was very gentle, my Little Ralph I hope better than formerly, as bleach is not so much, yet he is very forward, the lords name be praised, my dear Mary , very ill, she is heavy, and joyless as it were, god in mercy restore her and spare her life, I had much experience of vanity taking up my mind in this morning, and so it is with me frequently Lord let your grace be sufficient for me I entreat thee, and help me against my corruptions that they be not too strong for me, [navel] my navel continued well to gods holy name be the praise ascribed.
