2: This night my navel was washed it was corrupt and savoured much: at night on the left side of my belly it felt inwardly sore, and so I apprehended. and my mind began to be disquieted, but at what time I am so, I resolve to go to god. I left myself to his providence. I submitted, I was quiet, he gave me intimation of healing me and pardoning me, I expected it from him and rejoiced: the next day. die 3. it was finally well. I rode to Colchester, gods providence good to me in my occasions, I returned safe praise to my god, heard that the Scots were routed and thousands slain.
