August: 18. This week god was good to me and mine in outward mercies, only my dear wife faint and weakly, the lord strengthen her body, and quiet her spirit(.) my navel well. my cold wearing away, the season very comfortable. Mr Woodcocke preached for me, and thereby I had an opportunity to help my friends of Halsted: my heart very vile and annoyed with divers corruptions, Lord cure me of them for thy name sake.
