Aug: 25: My face was very much(.) swelled, and gums very sore, my rest was very troublesome last night, but through mercy I took some rest. otherwise gods hand was good to the rest of my family in their health, and truly his hand was gentle on me, it is a new trial, and so I want experience, but I desire to act my faith in his love towards me and care of me and exercise my patience in bearing his hand, and submitting to him(.) I was resolved to preach this day though ill, at noon my gums broke which gave me much ease for which I bless my god who remembered me in my illness. I bless my god for strength which he gave me for the Sabbath, carrying me on comfortably in the same, so as I feel myself better for my labour, the good lord accept me and do me good for his christs sake.
