July. 2. The Lord was good to me and mine in our outward mercies, my heart made dead to some corruptions, and yet I find how I endeavour to put life into them, and to follow after them(.) the lord continues yet in some measure to keep them down; the weather was inconstant yet promises plenty. my good friend Major Haines with us, the lord good to me in the word, he in mercy accept of me, and do me good.
