No: 5: This week past god very good to me in many outward mercies, I had one fit of an ague somewhat sharp, and no more, I was glad it took me, and I had that evening declined chess, which would have taken off Mr H. from his meditations against the day of prayer on the morning, the weather wonderfully cheerful and comfortable. the lord was good to me in the mercies of the day, his word and sacrament, the times have a sad face, strange reports going abroad, of nothing but divisions the lord our god take care for his, he reigns, that is our confidence,
