14: H. Abbot . junior. came to me for 26s. for collection; I desired him to pay me my tithe, he refused and desired that we might be civil in the law, I told him I would not put him to that trouble but would pay him, neither would I trouble him, I would leave it to that Master whom I served to right me, he presently kindly crossed my rate, and there was an end, I bless god that gave me that temper to honour him, and gave him such a spirit towards me, that hand was here for good blessed be thy name:
