May. 6: This week continued very hot and dry, the lords will be done in all things, it is the lord, let him do what he pleases, my illness in my face continues, but I hope it abates, though I cannot remove vanity out of my spirit, he keeps troubles out of my spirit, but he is god, and I am man, the people calm and quiet nothing troubles them(.) the body of professors so rent divided, ensnared and tanged, that cunning men may do anything, and they not say why do you thus, god good to me in the word and work of this day, my face a trouble to me, but not hinder my work through mercy.
