Aug: 19. The week past god good to me and mine in many outward mercies, god left a young hog of mine to be bitten by Burtons dog, it might have been worse, they cut his ear and tail and threw him into the water, lord preserve the poor creature if it be thy good pleasure, let no trouble then befall my family I humbly beg of thee, the weather, sad, lord reserve unto us the appointed weeks of harvest, showers this day, my heart is daily taken with the great things coming on the world, the lord in mercy suffer me not to be led into temptation, my cold goes away well through mercy
