Sept: 30: God good in many outward mercies, my wife ill with an ague, the lord sanctify it to us, and remove it, my vain thoughts too hard, lord I resolve not to give such thoughts a minding, help me, dead them in my heart, led meditations of god be precious, the lord good in the season, latter harvest, and seed time, corn falls, and now we fear the war with Spain(.) will hinder trade, made(,) money dead, and commodities to sell worse, thus we fear so many fears, that we neglect the fear of god, the lord was good to me in the work wherein my soul does rejoice.
