17 This day appointed for parliament. the morning lowering, and wet, which is a mercy, I set it apart to seek god on their behalf, that they might be instruments for good if possible, and not circumvented into evil. heard Mr Mede a good man lately died. Mr H. gave me 3li. towards the 5li. he promised me for his hops, from ten a clock it was a pleasant clear bright day, my heart most dead so that I could not pray, only at night at priory , where the Major was, who is going up to the parliament.
