Dec. 7. The lord good to me in many mercies, which adds to his mercy but to my sin if he is so to me who am so unthankful, and unmindful of him in his service that is on my shoulder, the lord humble me, and bend my mind thoroughly to him, oh lord recover me from under my deadness of spirit, and straitness of spirit in prayer, I find no life in my heart, but a vain frothy heart, I am much a stranger to god in my closet, praying with a mere form, the heart of man is desirous to receive in from god but is not active to, lay out itself for god again in his ways. lord help me. I am poor and wretched, lord undertake for me,
