7. Tom Hodson , came to borrow off me 20li. I wondered at my Cousins boldness, who had for his mother and self borrowed 5li. and never yet paid it. it grieves me that relations are so unworthy not to be trusted, god delivered me from a dangerous blow on my eye by reason of a chip flying on it, blessed by my preserver, I had such a mediation before on my heart in my sermon studies, and presently had the experience. at night I heard Tibbalds house whereof two parts are mine was on fire only spied presently and quenched. lord what cause have I to remember thee in thy ways.
