Nov: 7. God good to me, and mine in outward mercies, my heart sensible of my eternal state, for which I am amazed, but the love of god in christ lifts me up, Mrs Thrale with Mr H. from London informed of the death of her eldest son in Portugal, the lord help her to bear that stroke. a troubled business at Markshall, in disposing my Lady Honywoods daughter, she recoils in affection from Mr Brooks , but whether it be her act or others is uncertain, god good to me in his word this day, the lord affect me with his love.
