June. 19. God good to me in this day of affliction, my spirit quiet, not hurried about with distrust fears, full of stillness, peace. oh I bless god for it, its from thee, for my heart naturally is otherwise, god good to me in the word. Tom began to sit up this day, he was weak not able to stand, the lord strengthen his heart against evil, and bent it unto good, and then his life shall be a mercy indeed. I made an offer to my parish to come to their houses, and there instruct their families, or set apart some time to do it at my own.
