Sept: 9. This week doleful, a fire began in London in pudding lane at a French bakers about one of the clock Sept: 2. being lords day, and on the 3. and 4 burnt down almost the whole city but a little quarter from the tower to Moregate, and as low as Leadenhall Street, it burnt up all to Temple barre, few perishing in the flames, it ceased the 5 at night, on which day being the fast we prayed heartily, with tears and faith, that henceforward god would bless us, we are not too low for god to raise us up, and provide for us; a cheerful audience, a good day, but dry season.

Colchester abated to. 37. god command his mercy on our low estate.
