Oct. 12. A wet season and great flood, my life very unquiet, lord bring persons into a due order towards one another. lost a heifer this day. yet my god is good to me, and in his word, drawing and fixing my heart in my dependence on him at all times, my health seems in hazard this weather, gods blessing is my refuge, more than my own care. my daughter Woodthorp holds up, god send her a good delivery. my grounds are full stock, and my barns pretty full. I hope god will set me free from state entanglements, my hope is only on him. who cares for me, and still will, and so I put my trust in him.
