Jan. 3. a good and clear day for which I bless god, and for his good word, lord let thy grace abide with me continually.

Warm. dry. calm christmas, grass springing, herbs budding, birds singing ploughs going; a little rain only in two days, viz. Dec. 29. 30: fog. Jan. 5.6. no mention of frost. though some days clear sun shining. moon and stars appearing by night. most persons said never such a Christmas known in the memory of man yet I suppose. 37: years before the like and one said 46 or 47 was such a one.
