May. 19. a cheerful morning, my thoughts somewhat troubled in reference to my children but I will go to god for peace; The King asking his Parl: Council, and they denying to raise a million of money and reflecting too plainly on the evil councillors. the King pa[ssed by] some private acts. signifying his displeasure. prorogued them from 13. to 23: news of a pe[ace] beyond the seas.- 23. the Kings speech imports displeasure against the Parliament demand[ing] money. etc.
