Aug: 18: A goodly harvest week: which I in some measure improved, god good in our health and outward mercies he accept me in his beloved, my heart quiet as to former vain thoughts for which I bless my good god. desirous to do god some extraordinary service(.) peace between France and Holland, but before known in the Holland camp. in order to relieving mons they fell on the French with great fury and slaughter, the French retired. so the honour of the field was to the Dutch and English who fought valiantly
