it appeared to the homage that Xoph Mathew customary tenant of this manor 22.10.1669 surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Abraham Finch instead of the bailiff in the presence of Ralph Josselin and Jn Clerk two customary tenants etc one parcel of land called Spriggs Garden with a pond there with appurtenances adjoining a certain free tenement called Scriveners alias Squires to the sole use of Bridget Mathew his wife after the death of the said Xoph and the heirs and assigns of the said Bridget forever and that Xoph died before this court upon which came into court the said Bridget Mathew and petitioned admittance etc to whom the steward delivered seisin etc to have and to hold the said parcel of land with appurtenances to the said Bridget Matthew her heirs and assigns forever of the lord etc and gave the lord for fine etc
