at a court here held 23.3.1695 Robt Cranfield was admitted to himself and his heirs to one messuage or tenement now in the occupation of Ann Andrews widow called Firmintylers situate in Earls Colne aforesaid now at this court it appears to the homage that the aforesaid Robt on 28.1.1702 surrendered by the rod to the lord of this manor by the hand of Jn Caske in place of the bailiff and in presence of Geo Toller and Robt Harris two customary tenants etc the said premises aforesaid with appurtenances and all the estate and interest of and in the premises to the work and use of Thos Andrews his heirs and assigns forever on the subcondition following that the aforesaid Thos permits the aforesaid Ann Andrews to possess the said tenement for the term of her life without rent or reparations to the premises aforesaid during the term of her life and the said Thos present here in court humbly petitions etc admitted the premises etc gave the lord a fine fealty respited
