at a court held 23.4.1705 Edw Abbutt was admitted to him and heirs to one messuage or tenement called by name Skinners alias the Kingshead and also to a croft of land then with house built on it with barn called Burtons Barne alias Burtons Garden and right of entry and exit from a gate of said house viz to highway leading from Colchester to said barn and through and across a croft of land called Bearcroft for carrying and recarrying both from the gate and from the croft and also to one tenement called Gentryes and also to three crofts of land containing 12a more or less called Broomcrofts and also to one croft of land containing 11a along with a road leading to said croft for hunting and chasing and also to one meadow parcel of Bearcroft containing 3a more or less now at this court appears etc that Edw Abbutt late died seised that Edw Abbutt gentleman is his right son and heir and thereupon comes into court and humbly petitions etc to be admitted etc to the premises giving fine etc
