at a court held 30.3.1697 Edw Abbutt gentleman was admitted to him and heirs to one cottage or tenement called Cooks with a yard belonging to it late separated with pales then in occupation of Thos Fuller held by annual rent 8d and other services and also to one cottage or tenement with garden adjoining with appurtenances situate in Holstreet in occupation of Alex Woolanston held by annual rent 4d and after surrendered all and singular said premises to use of his last will that said Edw Abbutt after last court died seised after which comes into court Anne Perry widow and produced in court last will of Edw Abbutt dated 4.2.1711 in following english words viz item I give devise and bequeath unto Anne Perry of Colne Engaine in the county of Essex widow for and during the term of her natural life all those my two copyhold cottages or tenements with the appurtenances situate in Holstreet in Earls Colne aforesaid now or late in the tenures or occupations of mr Drybutter and Alex Williston or their or one of their assigns or assignees and holden of the manor of Earls Colne and Colne Priory and from and after her decease I give and bequeath the same unto Judith Perry her daughter and her heirs forever as by the will plainly appears thereupon said Anne Perry present here in court humbly petitions etc admitted to premises etc for life the remainder thereof as in said will mentioned giving lord fine etc
