at a court held 28.4.1713 it appeared to homage that Rose Abbutt a customary tenant of this manor surrendered 5.7.1712 into the hand of lord of manor by hand of Solomon Grimston deputy steward of manor etc all that tenement called Filbrid Lophams and Windmill Hill and a parcel to it belonging containing 10a more or less and also one croft land and pasture called Wallnutt Tree containing 5a more or less said premises situate lying and being in Earls Colne in late tenure Crabb widow and all the lands and tenements said Rose Abbutt held of the manor by copy of court roll to use of Jon Negus of Poplar in parish of Stepney in county of Middlesex mariner his heirs and assigns forever under this condition that Rose Abbutt her heirs executors or administrators should pay or cause to be paid to Jon Negus his executors administrators or assigns the full sum of 106li legal money Great Britain at the place and on the day in the surrender mentioned and then it would be void etc but said sum of 106li or any part of it was not paid on said day mentioned or any time after now to this court after third proclamation comes said Jon Negus by Solomon Grimston as his attorney and humbly petitions admitted to premises etc
