at this court came Geo Walls and brought here into court a certain writing or endorsement dated 23.8.1740 under hand of Jn Dean of Westberg Holt in Essex singleman purporting an acknowledgement of the receipt of 21li11s6d by said Jn Dean of and from him Geo Walls in full discharge and satisfaction of and in principal and interest monies due on a certain surrender made by Geo Walls and Leticia his wife to Jn Dean and heirs of divers copyhold lands and tenements held of the manor on a copy whereof is the said endorsement written and desired the same might be enrolled
