his wife concerning a plea that they should return to them half of 17a of land with appurtenances in Colne Engayne as the inheritance of the aforesaid

and coheir with her sister

because they say that

father of the aforesaid
Matilda
was seised of the aforesaid 17a of land with appurtenances in the time of Richard late king of England according to the custom of the manor and whereof he took the profits etc and surrendered into the hands of the lady the aforesaid 17a of land with appurtenances according to the custom of the manor and the lady granted back the said 17a of appurtenances to the aforesaid

his wife and the heirs of their bodies legitimately procreated by virtue of which gift the right to half of the aforesaid 17a of land with appurtenances descends to the aforesaid

his wife as the right of the aforesaid

her sister daughters of the aforesaid

by which she seeks pronouncement and seisin etc and the aforesaid

defend etc and say that no such gift was made as they submitted and in this matter they place themselves upon the inquisition and the aforesaid

similarly and upon this a day is given against the next at which they are sworn examined tried and the jury say that such a gift was made as submitted by

his wife therefore upon the consideration of the court it is judged that the aforesaid

should recover seisin of half the aforesaid 17a of land with appurtenances and they gave to the lady for a fine for having right of entry as is shown in the margin and made fealty and the aforesaid
