fine 3s4d to this court came Joan Bray and surrendered into the hands of the lady one cottage with a small curtilage adjoining the same with appurtenances called Brokkeles to the use of Rich Bray her son and his heirs to whom the lady granted thereof seisin to hold to the same said Rich his heirs and assigns from the lady at the will of the lady according to the custom of the manor saving rights etc and if Jn Fitz Nichole his heirs or assigns are involved in any annoyance by the aforesaid Joan or her heirs by reason of any pleas concerning divers lands and tenements in Halstede called Wardes Tenement which the aforesaid Jn Fitz Nichole had by a grant and concession of Wm Bray and the aforesaid Joan his wife or if the aforesaid cottage with curtilage adjoining with appurtenances should not be sufficiently repaired and maintained by sufficient work on it that then the aforesaid Jn Fitz Nichole his heirs and assigns should truly be able by the lady's licence to enter and to hold the aforesaid cottage with curtilage adjoining with appurtenances according to the form in a certain surrender by the aforesaid Jn Fitz Nichole to the same said Joan made in a court held on the tuesday in the week of pentecost 8Hen4 as plainly appears in a roll of the aforesaid court and he gave to the lady for a fine as shown etc and made fealty
