alone and secretly examined by the lord's steward surrendered into the lord's hands one tenement with a garden adjoining and the appurtenances called
Goolds Gate
to the use and behoof of
Wm Finche
his heirs and assigns who being present in the court came and craved to be admitted thereunto and he is admitted the lord's tenant to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him his heirs and assigns of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor yet this present surrender and seisin thereof delivered is made on condition following viz that if the foresaid

his heirs or assigns pay or cause to be paid to the foresaid
Nich Banbury
and
Joan
his wife or one of them or their certain attorney or executor 5marks sterling in the feast of
michaelmas.next coming
after the date of this court in the dwelling house of the said
Nich
in Colne aforesaid beside 4li beforehand paid that then this present surrender and seisin thereof delivered shall stand and remain in all his strength and virtue to the form aforesaid that then it shall be lawful to
