fine 10s Warkmans it is found by the homage that Rose late the wife of Thos Cawche and before the wife of     Chatterton who held to her and her heirs and assigns of the lord as of this manor by the rod one croft of land called Warkmans of new enclosed containing 3a31p of land lying between the land called Warkmans now in the tenure of Thos Rolte by copy of court roll toward the east and the land of Jn Wingfield towards the west one head thereof abutting upon land of the said Thos Rolte towards the south the other head thereof abutting upon the land of Jn Estaie called Litle Borrowes and the land of Thos Rolte toward the north as etc died since the last court of and in the foresaid croft of land sole seised in her demesne as of fee according to the custom of the manor etc and they say further that Jn Chatterton of full age is the elder son of the foresaid Rose and because that one Thos Chatterton another son of the foresaid Rose came and saith that the foresaid Jn was born before matrimony solemnised between the said     Chatterton and the said Rose his mother therefore the court will be advised till the next court for the admission of the foresaid Jn to the foresaid croft of land with appurtenances whereupon the foresaid Thos Cawche late the husband of the foresaid Rose came and prayed to be admitted to the foresaid croft of land with appurtenances during the whole term of his life according to the law and custom of the realm of England because they say that the foresaid Rose his wife late his wife (sic) was seised of and in the foresaid croft of land with appurtenances in her demesne as of fee during the time of matrimony between them and because the petition of the foresaid Thos is true and the custom of this manor is not to the contrary therefore he is admitted the lord's tenant thereof to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to hold to him and his assigns during the whole term of his life of the lord by the rod etc to remain after his decease etc to the right heirs of the foresaid Rose and he giveth fine etc and made fealty
