at this court it is found and certified as well by Thos Gent esq chief steward of the manor aforesaid as by the homage that Sibil Reynolds widow late the wife of Humph Reynolds and before the wife of Jn Cressener that held to her and her heirs of the lord by the rod etc one croft of land now divided into two parts containing by estimation 8a with appurtenances parcel of the demesnes of this manor lying in Lowfield under Chiffen near the herd house from the conduit and three crofts of land called Bromed Crofts lying in Colne aforesaid parcel of the demesne lands of this manor as by the roll of the court here holden     more at large appears came before the said Thos Gent 4.10.20Eliz1 and surrendered into the lord's hands by the hands of his said steward the foresaid crofts of land to the use and behoof of Geo Cressener her son and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for default of such issue to remain to Mary Freebody now the wife of Humph Freebody late the daughter of Thos Cressener deceased and her heirs which Geo being present in court came and prayed to be admitted to whom by the lord's steward there is seisin thereof delivered to have and to hold the foresaid crofts of land with appurtenances to the foresaid Geo Cressener and the heirs of his body lawfully begotten and for default of such issue to remain to the foresaid Mary Freebody and her heirs of the lord by the rod to the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor by the fealty rents and services therefore before due and of right accustomed and he giveth fine and made fealty
