twentieth section of the clause of 25Chas2 earl of Oxford and Cressener this indenture made the 30.9.1673 and in the five and twentieth year of the reign of our sovereign lord Charles the second by the grace of god king of England Scotland France and Ireland defender of the faith etc between the right honourable Aubrey earl of Oxford lord lieutenant of the county of Essex and one of his majesties most honourable privy council the surviving trustee for the donation settling and disposing of the place of schoolmaster for the free grammar school in Earls Colne in the county of Essex of the one part and Geo Cressener the elder of Earls Colne aforesaid gentleman Jn Cressener of London grocer and Geo Cressener the younger of the Middle Temple gentleman of the other part witnesseth that the said earl for good causes and considerations him thereunto moving hath given granted and confirmed and by these presents doth fully freely and absolutely give grant ratify and confirm unto the said Geo Cressener the elder Jn Cressener and Geo Cressener the younger and their heirs all the said donation free disposition and settling of a schoolmaster from time to time for the grammar school of Earls Colne aforesaid which is now void by the late death of Wm Humphreys deceased and also all and every the messuages lands tenements and hereditaments whatsoever of and belonging to the said place of schoolmaster to the free grammar school aforesaid with their and every of their rights members and appurtenances and all and every the rents issues prerequisites and profits to the said place of schoolmaster belonging or in anywise appertaining and all the right title interest possession rents reversion profit property claim and demand whatsoever of him the said earl and his heirs of in and to the premises and every part thereof to have hold receive take and enjoy the said donation free disposition and placing of a schoolmaster to the said free grammar school from time to time and at all times and all and every the messuages lands tenements hereditaments rents issues prerequisites profits and all other the premises herein before mentioned to be freely given and granted and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances unto the said Geo Cressener the elder Jn Cressener and Geo Cressener the younger their heirs and assigns to and for the only proper u se and uses of them the said Geo Cressener the elder Jn Cressener and Geo Cressener the younger and their heirs and assigns forever and the said earl for himself and his heirs doth hereby covenant promise grant and agree to and with the said Geo Cressener the elder Jn Cressener and Geo Cressener the younger their heirs and assigns by these presents that he the said earl and his heirs and all other persons lawfully claiming under him shall and will from time to time and at all times for and during the space of seven years next coming after the date of these presents at and upon every reasonable request and at the cost and charges of the said Geo Cressener the elder Jn Cressener and Geo Cressener the younger or any of them or their heirs or assigns make do acknowledge levy execute and perform all further and other lawful and reasonable act and acts thing or things devises conveyances and assurances in the law whatsoever for the further better more perfect and absolute granting conveying selling and assuring ratifying and confirming all and singular the premises herein before mentioned to be hereby granted with their and every of them rights members and appurtenances unto and upon the said Geo Cressener the elder Jn Cressener and Geo Cressener the younger their heirs and assigns to and for their own proper use and uses forever by such ways and means and in such manner as by the said Geo Cressener the elder Jn Cressener and Geo Cressener the younger their heirs and assigns or by their or any of their counsel learned in the law shall be devised or advised and required in witness whereof the said parties to these present indentures interchangeably have set their hands and seals the day and year first above written
