Jn earl of Oxford by licence aliened among other things the manor of Earls Colne to the use of the said earl for life and after his decease to the use of the first and elder issue male of his body and the heirs male of the body of such issue with successive remainder in default to the use of the second and other issue male of such issue to Hen one of the sons of the duke of Somerset and Kath daughter and heir apparent of the said earl and the heirs of the body of the said Hen by her to the heirs of the body of the said earl and to his right heirs provided always that if the said Hen shall disagree to marrying the said Kath or shall not marry her before michaelmas.1559 and she marry another son of the said duke before or within one month after that feast then all the above declared uses to the said Hen and Kath of the said manor etc to be void and the trustees seised of the same etc after the decease of the said earl and after default of issue male of his body and heirs male of the body of such issue to the use of such other son as shall marry the said Kath and the heirs of his body by her with remainder in default successively to the heirs of the body and the right heirs of the said earl etc
