office of the judge against Robt Carter of Earls Colne Carter admitted that in the time articulate and at this present time there hath been and is a public and common fame and report in the parish of Earls Colne and other places and parishes articulate of his incontinent living with Sara the wife of the said Thos Carter of the parish of Earls Colne raised by one Taylor a poor fellow and that he is of the said parish and subject to the jurisdiction of this court and submits himself and denies all other articles Gaell accepts acts and gestures of Carter but says he does not believe him and ordered to undergo examination
