office of the judge against Eliz Crisp of Earls Colne to purge herself with nine neighbours on this day she is unable to bring the compurgators and therefore she is declared to have failed and ordered that upon sunday next she shall come to Earls Colne church at solemnisation of morning prayer with a white sheet about her and a white wand in her hand barefooted and bareheaded and shall so stand in the middle alley before the pulpit or place where the minister shall stand from the beginning of morning prayer till the sermon and to confess her fault and to receive the rest later (was all in english)
