24.6.1720 to the churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the parish of Earls Colne and to the churchwardens and overseers of the parish of Aldham upon the complaint of the churchwardens etc of the poor of the parish of Earls Colne unto us who have hereunto set our hands and seals being two justices of the peace that Margt Cooke came lately to dwell in the said parish of Earls Colne not having gained a legal settlement there according to the laws etc nor produced a certificate to them owning her to be settled elsewhere and that the said Margt Cooke is likely to become chargeable to the said parish of Earls Colne we upon examination thereof and of the said Margt Cooke upon oath do adjudge that the said Margt Cooke is likely to become chargeable to the said parish of Earls Colne if not speedily removed and we do likewise adjudge that the place of her lawful settlement is at Aldham aforesaid we do therefore require you the said churchwardens etc of Earls Colne to remove and convey the said Margt Cooke from Earls Colne to the parish of Aldham and deliver her to the churchwardens etc and we do likewise hereby require you the said churchwardens etc of Aldham to receive and provide for her as an inhabitant of your parish given under our hands and seals this 24.6.1720 Rich Androwes P Wagener
